Creative Commons add-in for Office 2007 lets you embed a CC license into an Office document. This add-in will work with any document created with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, or Excel. This way you can state clearly which rights you want to waive, and which you will keep. Besides, you will be able to choose which of the three types of licenses available you will apply to each document (Creative Commons, Public Domain, or Sample), and to determine if you allow to use your document commercially or not, and if it can be modified or not.
This program will add its own tab to the toolbar on your Office applications. Whenever you want to include a license, you just need to press the button provided. Once you have declared your preferences, the system will download the right type of license from the Creative Commons site. That license will be then automatically embedded in the document. The user viewing your document will see a warning in it with a link to the CC license you have chosen for your document. This Microsoft add-in comes with a brief instruction manual in Word format that will open during installation.
